International Bareboat Skipper’s Certification

Prerequisite: Basic Keelboat

RSSS is an International Yacht Training Facility. Students who successfully complete our Live Aboard Cruising course may test for the International Bareboat Skipper’s Certification.

Students enrolled in our Coastal Passage Making course are also eligible to test for IBS certification upon successful completion of the practical component of the course. As our Live Aboard Cruising and Passage Making courses are approved by the IYT, no additional course requirements are needed to complete the certification course. The IYT IBS exam is administered upon successful completion of the course.

IYT training and certifications are accepted in over 20 countries including the US, UK, Croatia, Dubai, France, Greece, Holland, Ireland, Lebanon, Norway, Poland, Russia, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey and the Ukraine.

Certification fee is US$175 per person 

and includes course notes, certification exam fee, logbook and laminated certification card.
