BVI Family Sailing, Catamaran Charters | Sailing is a fantastic family activity and an ideal choice for active families looking for an adventure filled holiday where the sport of sailing is enjoyed together and teamwork is emphasized. Parents with children of all ages are encouraged to experience the joy of sailing as a family either with an experienced captain, or if you're interested in learning to sail and your goal is to achieve certification to skipper your next family sail, our captains are instructor trained and certified allowing you the option of incorporating sailing instruction into your charter. | | Family sails are customized to the particular needs of each family. The BVI is the ideal venue for families new to sailing and those that prefer shorter sails as the distance sailing between anchorages is always manageable with islands always in site. The Orana 44 is ideal for instructional, crewed and family charters. Boasting a high degree of comfort, the Orana 44 has a low center of gravity to afford maximum safety and with a generous 110 square feet of sail area. The luminous interior comprises a light and airy kitchen that opens onto the cockpit and a beautiful saloon table that seats eight people with panoramic views. An innovative sliding bay provides direct open-plan access between the spacious saloon and cockpit, enhancing safety and easy of movement. The ergonomic helm station accommodates three people and groups all navigational maneuvers together affording excellent visibility above the deckhouse. More about the Jeanneau 50DS | | Athena 38 Catamaran (4 cabins/2 heads) The Athena 38 is an elegant catamaran from Fountaine Pajot. The carefully thought out design makes this cat very easy to maneuver, moor and anchor. With four double cabins and two heads, this cat is extremely popular with larger groups. Each cabin has a large double berth and have access to two spacious heads and showers located port and starboard. She has a sociable "galley up" lay out which is well equipped for charter. Her powerful rig makes her a blast to sail and as you would expect she has acres of deck space. Specifications | | Dufour 43 (4 cabins/2 heads) As a good all-round cruiser, it's hard to beat this yacht for a charter vacation. The general feel is sturdy and comfortable, providing a good sense of security for those with limited yachting experience. The cockpit is spacious and at anchor you and your crew can take advantage of good access to the swim deck courtesy of the twin wheels. Below deck, taller crew will appreciate the additional headroom that the Gib'Sea 43 offers. This also enhances the feeling of space and light, while the interior’s fine teak finish provides a touch of luxury. The 4 cabin layout offers the double bunk sleeping arrangement in the fourth cabin which is ideal for families with children. Guests typically eat ashore 2-3 nights. | | Itineraries The following are examples of a 5 and 7 day itinerary: If you prefer a non instructional charter with an experienced skipper on board, a RSSS captain will be assigned to your charter. Captain's rates are $150/day plus meals and gratuity. Cooks are also available at $125/day plus meals and gratuity. | | Accommodations If time allows, spending a few days ashore following your charter is a terrific way to wind down your holiday and an excellent opportunity to see more of Tortola. Although Tortola is the island of embarkation for charter guests, with the exception of Cane Garden Bay, guests do not have the opportunity to see a lot of Tortola during their time in the BVI. A few extra days on Tortola will give you the opportunity to explore this lovely island. You may choose to rent a car and take a land based tour around Tortola, take a helicopter ride around Tortola, swim with the dolphins, snorkel Smuggler's Cover, hike the rain forest of Sage Mountain, visit the Botanical Gardens, surf Long Bay Beach or Josiah's bay, dine at one of the many wonderful restaurants on Tortola and take in the night life. | | Nanny Cay Resort and Marina Nanny Cay Resort offers a charming forty room hotel, just 10 minutes from Road Town. Built around an original 17th century Dutch Fort, accented with masses of bougainvillea, oleander, hibiscus flowers, and swaying palm trees, these villas offer a superb view of St. John, St. Thomas, and Peter Island, which are easily accessible by a ferry. All villas are completely and comfortably furnished with A/C, TV, fully equipped kitchen, living room, library, bedrooms and baths. Housekeeping services are provided daily. Fort Recovery Beachfront Villas are on the calm Caribbean side of the island. This creates an excellent swimming and snorkeling area from our small private beach.
