Lagoon 420 4 cabins/4 heads/ac
Location: BVI
The Lagoon 42 won ‘best boat of the year’ awards from both Cruising World and Sail magazine in 2017. The 42 has an open plan saloon and cockpit with a bulkhead helm position on the port side. A beam of just over 25ft and a true LOA of 42ft makes her feel very spacious and uncluttered indeed, both above and below decks. Flush deck hatches and handholds in the coach roof make moving around her wide decks easy and safe. The cockpit has a large table, and seating for all the crew, with a cockpit fridge to keep the drinks cold.
As with all the latest designs from Lagoon, the mast is set aft, and with a high aspect mainsail and larger genoa, the Lagoon 42 is one of the strongest performers in the range. From the helm position, communication into the cockpit and on deck is easy, and all sail controls and winches are neatly to hand by the helm station. There is a full array of electronics including autopilot and chart plotter. The composite bimini has sliding hatches, so setting the sails (there is an electric winch to hoist the full batten main) and trimming them is simple.
