Family Charters

Charters with a captain (non instructional)

If you prefer a non instructional charter with an experienced skipper on board, a Swain captain will be assigned to your charter.

Sailing is a fantastic family activity and an ideal choice for active families looking for an adventure filled holiday where the sport of sailing is enjoyed together and teamwork is emphasized. Parents with children of all ages are encouraged to experience the joy of sailing as a family either with an experienced captain, or bareboating.

Included in your non-instructional family charter:

Family charter rates are calculated based on the makeup of the family "the crew" and the inclusions outlined below:

  • Skipper/Captain (if requested)

  • Your yacht

  • Provisioning

  • Cruising Permit, National Parks Fees

  • Hull Damage Insurance

  • Inverter to charge lap tops, MP3 players, cell phones

  • Boat fuel and water

  • Linens and towels

Captain's rates are $350/day plus meals and gratuity. Cooks are also available at $200/day plus meals and gratuity.

Not included in the tuition and charter fees are ice, drinking water and other beverages, your dinners ashore, mooring ball fees, airport/ferry transfers, captains's gratuity, government departure tax.

Incorporating sailing instruction into your family charter
If you're interested in learning to sail and your goal is to achieve certification to skipper your next family sail, our captains are instructor trained and certified.

Parents and family members over 16 years of age who have the Basic Keelboat prerequisite may choose to achieve their Basic Cruising and Bareboat Cruising certifications within their family sail. For those requiring the Basic Keelboat precursor course, this course can be accomplished as an intensive 2 day course, or the standard 3 day course. Children 12 and older may also participate in the Basic Keelboat course and test for the certification. We do recommend a less intensive pace, 3-4 day program for kids. This is a day course and on shore accommodations will need to be arranged.
